Pedro (he/him) is an Assistant Researcher at Good Energy Collective, where he aids the Consent-Based Siting team with performing research at the intersection of environmental/social justice and spent nuclear fuel siting. His responsibilities also include conducting a complimentary research project to provide a more holistic perspective on the communities and nature of the siting work.
Pedro is a recent graduate from the University of Notre Dame who earned a B.S. degree in Environmental Engineering with a minor in Energy Studies. His introduction to Good Energy Collective was while working as a Student Researcher alongside Dr. Ginger Sigmon and Dr. Peter Burns. Other research areas during his undergraduate studies include environmental hazard response through the National Hazard Engineering Infrastructure, coastal erosion, and arsenic contamination of the local drinking water in South Bend, IN. After the work of the Consent-Based Siting team is finalized, Pedro plans to continue working on environmental remediation and waste management projects.
