Recognition of GEC’s leadership as a nuclear NGO
- Giving Green Fund selected GEC as a grantee following their evaluation of essential work within the nuclear NGO space
- Vox’s Future Perfect recognized GEC as one of their top environmental NGOs
- Charity Navigator selected GEC as one of their Best Environmental Charities of 2024
- GEC original pieces were selected for publication in diverse news forums, such as Environmental Law Forum, Power Magazine, and Utility Dive
- GEC’s work was quoted in over 25 articles, including Bloomberg News and The Atlantic
GEC’s efforts to advance an inclusive approach to the energy transition
- GEC piloted our Justice Champions Fellowship Program and hosted a policy intern through Black Girl Environmentalist’s inaugural Hazel M. Johnson Fellowship
- GEC completed our first year of work under our Department of Energy award for consent-based siting of nuclear waste
- GEC hosted 11 community workshops in Jackson, WY, and 3 workshops in Southeast Vermont
Driving impact throughout energy and climate policy
- GEC staff conducted educational meetings with 25 congressional offices on key nuclear policy issues

- GEC staff presented educational briefings to varied groups, including Citizen’s Climate Lobby, YOUNGO, Mississippi People’s Movement (TK), the U.S. Department of Energy, and more
- GEC published a second case study in our series exploring the equity implications of state-level clean energy policies, focused on nuclear new build policies in Georgia
