On Oct. 15, we submitted comments to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) following its public meeting on efforts to facilitate efficient, timely, and predictable environmental reviews for nuclear reactor applications. We highlighted the importance of aligning these reviews with the ADVANCE Act’s goals to accelerate the deployment of advanced reactors through streamlined permitting processes.

Our recommendations include leveraging existing environmental studies, enhancing interagency coordination, and maintaining robust public engagement. These steps are critical to ensuring the equitable expansion of nuclear energy capacity.
