Lanell (he/him) is a seasoned nonprofit operations and strategy leader with over a decade of experience driving organizational excellence. Joining Good Energy Collective as the Director of Operations, Lanell brings a rich background in transforming systems and fostering inclusive cultures within leading national nonprofits.
Before joining Good Energy Collective, Lanell was the Director of People and Culture and Special Assistant to the CEO at Chiefs for Change. In this role, he spearheaded diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, streamlined performance management systems, and built robust team cultures. His strategic insights and leadership were pivotal in driving the organization toward its goals.
Lanell's career includes impactful roles at EdReports, Education Pioneers, TNTP, and at Aspire Public Schools, where he led strategic planning and project management efforts. His ability to implement innovative solutions and improve organizational efficiency has been a hallmark of his work.
Lanell holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from East Tennessee State University, a Master of Education from Northeastern University, and is a SHRM-certified professional (SHRM-CP). A proud Memphis native, he enjoys the city's vibrant music scene, delicious barbecue, and rich cultural history.
