Pedro Pozas
Pedro Pozas is a Consulting Research Assistant at Good Energy Collective, where he aids the Policy and External Affairs team on the ongoing Consent-Based Siting (CBS) project. He began working with Good Energy Collective his Senior year as an undergraduate, and continued after obtaining his B.S. in Environmental Engineering from the University of Notre Dame. Pedro is responsible for aiding in jurisdictional analysis, completing community profiles, creating workshop materials, facilitating CBS community interventions, and collating and analysing data.
Prior to joining Good Energy Collective, Pedro worked as a Research Assistant on a wide variety of projects, from hydraulic and floodplain modeling, to coastal erosion analysis, to natural hazard response under the Natural Hazards Engineering Research Infrastructure. His research has contributed to understanding the rate and effects of sea level rise, and toward fast and equitable natural crisis response strategies in impoverished communities.
Choosing to focus on Energy Studies while obtaining his degree, Pedro is passionate about the intersection of engineering solutions and social considerations, especially when it comes to the environment or energy. His goal is to work toward developing this expertise and subsequently pursuing a dual Master’s in Energy Policy and Public Affairs to work towards guaranteeing just and equitable environmental strategies and energy transitions.
When not immersed in work or research, Pedro enjoys rock climbing, learning new languages, playing board games, open-water swimming, and hiking with his dog, Marshall.
